Growth and evolution are embraced in Origin's philosophy. As they expand, warehouse systems adapt. As the industry shifts, new audiences are welcomed. When material innovations emerge, the environmental credentials are interrogated and adopted. Every action affects the brand communication criteria.
Continual dialogue means we are privy to incremental change, it allows us to understand the bigger picture and deliver work that is aesthetically on-point and highly functional in the modern marketplace.
Our latest packaging suite addresses the postal brand experience, materials/printing, and how information is conveyed.
Postal brand experience
As Origin ramps up its subscription model we’ve elevated the postal packaging experience with a refined layout, colour system and information hierarchy which has been carefully arranged to engage all customer groups.
Sustainable materials
Origin are dedicated to making choices that reduce their environmental impact. In this latest round of development, we have moved away from home compostable bags which are largely destined for landfill. The new bags are made from LDPE (Low-density polyethylene) with over 70% recycled content, which is easily processed in recycling stream 4. The external boxes are made from PAP 20 corrugated card. The labels and liner are also fully recyclable.
Tasting cards
Origin's tasting cards are a much-loved, highly collectable brand touchpoint and storytelling platform. They carry important product information and celebrate the world’s finest coffees with flavour-inspired artwork.
Since we introduced the cards in 2005 art has become widely used in the coffee packaging sector, so we identified the need to tighten up our approach and set guidelines to stay abreast of the pack. We locked down a colour palette and built a toolkit of organic, mechanical and linear forms which can be layered in infinite combinations. It's a flexible, low-maintenance visual system which is connected to the core brand identity, creating continuity without stifling the art.
