Cornwall Pasta Co is the vision of Chef, Nicholas Egan. Nick spent his early career in the Campania region of Italy, learning how to make pasta using traditional techniques. Slow dried, bronze cut, working with seasonality to bring the best nature has to offer to the table. We were tasked with creating a visual identity and packaging solution to echo Nicks sustainable ethos, and cut through the noise in highly curated deli environments.
The graphic language blends styles from two corners of the European continent; iconic Cornishware stripes and classic Italian cycling caps. The bold/muted colour palette is guided by the natural dyes used in the pasta.
The colour, form and texture of the pasta are a key selling point, so we found a sustainable way to make the product visible in the form of a bio-film window. We added a bronze foil, referencing the bronze-cut extrusion process which allows the pasta to absorb more sauce and enhance flavour. The foiled board is fully recyclable, re-pulpable and biodegradable.
