Origin’s Charlotte Road shop opened its doors in 2015, sitting at the heart of London’s creative district. As part of the original interior scheme we commissioned artist John Kilburn to paint the wall behind the counter. The piece quickly became a talking point, finding fame on instagram, and keeping customers engaged as they queued for their morning caffeine hit.
Two years later we commissioned Pete Murgatroyd to paint over the original with an isometric cityscape, exposing the gritty history of the area, with a vibrant colour palette to mark an obvious step change.
Calum Heath was up next. His mind-bending concepts caught our eye at the Falmouth University Illustration BA degree show. We knew he was well placed to expand the emerging narrative and loosen up the aesthetic.
The latest artwork was created by Marcus Oakley, progressing from loose lines to a gridded assemblage of 2D motifs, which explore buildings and the people who move between them.
